AphexTwining: Image to sound

Yes, we can use povray to build sounds too. Here are some examples, checked in baudline.

Another example sound.
Myself in baudline.
I deliberately chose one of the most funny pictures I have : my haircut is not really like this. ;)

Scene, example sound.
Simple picture to sound converter. This script is not the fastest one: it doesn't use inverse FFT to build the sound, but the sounds computed are better than using inverse FFT.
LEDs
snapshot
Simulation of a stereo LED panel showing audio spectrum. LED colors change each 30 seconds to show different possible color sets. Video is HD 720p.

Scene.
Second version of a LED using emitting medias instead of light_source. The LED macro has 3 input parameters: light intensity, colour and a on/off switch.

A LED panel showing an audio spectrum and the volume level, in dB (decibels). The panel has input parameters: audio datas, sample rate, min and max frequencies to show, number of frequencies, LED colors and a on/off switch.
FFT: Fast Fourier Transform
snapshot
This is an over 8000 images 16:9-wide PAL video. It took about 1 month to be rendered by 2 PCs.

This is a portage of a very old BASIC-Apple II source to Povray. Normal and inverse FFT macros. Audio datas must be in a array containing vectors made of 2 values: <left, right>, or <value, 0> if used with mono signals.
